GeoRiot was established in 2009 in Seattle, Washington.  One of the founders, Jesse Lakes, created a series of extreme sports film soundtrack sites (Ski Movie Music, Rider Tunes, Surfer Tunes) with affiliate links to the iTunes store. After some time he noticed that a lot of their traffic was international.  Enrolled in only the US iTunes affiliate program, only a small percent of clicking traffic was being affiliated.  Together with his long time friend, Jesse Pasichnyk, they set out to change that.  The GeoRiot service was their solution to affiliating iTunes links internationally.
