Managing Traffic Sources | Resetting Your Password | Understanding GRID
The GeoRiot dashboard is your interface with the GeoRiot system. From the dashboard you can add or edit traffic sources (this could be an app, website, campaign, tweet, facebook post, etc...), map affiliate tracking parameters, review reports, and manage your account.
The GeoRiot dashboard can be found at http://manage.georiot.com. Access to the dashboard is provided upon signup with the service.
At a minimum your dashboard will have one “traffic source” (this could be an app, website, tweet, campaign, etc..). You may add as many traffic sources as you wish.
Each traffic source will be associated with a set of affiliate programs in the GeoRiot system. This allows you the flexibility to use different affiliate program accounts for each traffic source, if you wish. Associating a traffic source with an affiliate program set allows us to properly encode affiliate links so any resulting sales will be credited to the corresponding account(s).
The GeoRiot dashboard allows you to see granular reporting for multiple traffic sources. Your GeoRiot reports will display your click information in separate reports to provide valuable insight into your business.
In your dashboard, the “Traffic Source Management” page can be found under “Accounts”. Clicking on “Managing Affiliate Program Set” directs you to the page where you can add and edit affiliate tracking parameters.
The GeoRiot service is built around the affiliate links that are made with the iTunes Link Maker tool. As a result it’s important to use a sample affiliate link, generated from the iTunes Link Maker tool to add additional programs to your account.
To add a new country, click on “Add a new country / affiliate network” in the upper right corner of the dashboard page. As the page expands select the advertiser, country, and affiliate network. Note: it’s important to use a sample affiliate link generated from the iTunes Link Maker tool to add additional programs to your account.
For example, if you were recently accepted into the iTunes Affiliate Program for Australia, through DGM Pro, you would follow these steps to start encoding links with your GeoRiot account tracking parameters:
While you are assigned a username and password when your account is created you can change your password through the GeoRiot dashboard. This is done by navigating from “Account” to “Change Password.”
Passwords are required to be a minimum of seven characters in length, two numbers and two special characters and should contain a combination of numbers, lowercase, and uppercase letters.
If you wish to have your username changed please contact us.
The GeoRiot ID, or GRID, is a crucial parameter for GeoRiot links that allows the service to match each account with a traffic source, country and the affiliate tracking parameters.
Each country/ program you add to GeoRiot is assigned a GRID, however, the only GRID you should be concerned with is the one that matches original links. All the other GRIDs can be ignored.
If all your original links are built for the US affiliate program or are raw iTunes links for the US store(s), then the landing page will include “/us/.” In this case, you would only be concerned with the GRID that is assigned to your account for the LinkShare/US program.
For example, if you have been accepted into three affiliate programs, US, CA and AU, and added the tracking parameters into the GeoRiot dashboard, you will have these GRIDS: US = 1, CA= 2, and AU= 3. You originally built your site using links from the US/LinkShare affiliate program. Because your original links are built for the US, you will only use the GRID for the US, which would be 1. All the affiliate links you converted to be GeoRiot enabled will include “GRID=1” in the URL.
To ensure the service is as rewarding as possible to our clients, GeoRiot will never take clicks to meet your click share from the same country your link is built from (aka, your base country). Because of this rule it’s beneficial to build your GeoRiot links from the storefront where you expect to get the most traffic. Typically this is the US, not only because this storefront has the largest catalog to build links from but GeoRiot has found that more affiliate traffic for iTunes originates from the US then any other country.
Bottom line: To ensure the best possible results using GeoRiot, be sure the GRID in your GeoRiot link corresponds with your iTunes link country. If you are using the Find/Replace link format, you must verify that the GRID also matches the correct affiliate program. If you are confused or have any questions regarding your GRID then please contact us to verify.
