Overview
The GeoRiot service provides an easy to implement and manage solution for multiple iTunes Affiliate Programs to be used simultaneously. When your affiliate links are empowerd the service provides a seamless user experience for international traffic and allows for full capitalization on global commissions.
The Service
GeoRiot enabled links provide three services, in the blink of an eye, every time they are clicked. These include geo targeting, translating and encoding iTunes Affiliate links.
Geo Targeting is the practice of delivering specific content based off of a user's location. GeoRiot determines where the user is clicking from in order to determine which iTunes store is the best match. GeoRiot is able to determine users from over 226 countries in order to best match them with one of the 90 plus countries that have an iTunes and App Store.
The GeoRiot service uses an extensive set of rules and fuzzy logic to quickly translate the original link's intended destination to a link appropriate for the international user. Our algorithm is constantly evolving to provide the fastest and best content matches.
After a new link has been built with the Translation Engine it is then encoded with the appropriate tracking code to match the standards for the relevant affiliate network. This allows that your international commissions to be maximized and use multiple iTunes Affiliate Programs at once. User level tracking parameters are also exchanged so that your internal tracking is seamless.
Integration
The GeoRiot service was designed for easy integration by content editors, web admin and app developers alike. Full integration of the service requires a simple swap of the base of your affiliate link with a customized GeoRiot link. This can be as easy as a find and replace on your existing code. The GeoRiot service works seamlessly with all types of iTunes Affiliate links:
- This includes deep links built from the Link Maker tool, the RSS Feed Generator, the Search API and the Enterprise Partner Feed.
- The service works with all media types in the store. Including apps, artist, album, track, music video, TV shows, TV seasons, movies, short films, audio books and podcasts.
- Search based links and specialized iTunes links for rooms or customized pages are also supported.
The GeoRiot dashboard includes multiple tools.
- A deep linking tool that creates GeoRiot enabled links from raw iTunes links.
- Adding or editing new sites or apps to be included in your account.
- Adding and editing the different iTunes affiliate programs as you are accepted.

The GeoRiot Reporting Engine includes a wide variety of graphs and tables including these:
- International Traffic - Four different reports give an overview of which countries are contributing to your traffic. Further investigation by domain, by day and by both are also available.
- Commissionable Clicks - This graph and table is an analysis of your potentially commissionable clicks. The first line represents the number of clicks you originally supported. The second line shows the number of clicks that you are currently supporting by using multiple affiliate programs simultaneously. The third line represents the number of clicks you would be receiving if you were active in all of the available iTunes Affiliate Programs worldwide.
- Percent Profit Increase - Based off of your initial country/affiliate program, this metric gives an estimate of your expected increase in commissions with your currently supported countries using the GeoRiot service.
- Percent Improved User Experience - Based off your initial country/affiliate program, this graph shows what percentage of your traffic now has a seamless experience going to the correct country's store to the appropriate page.
Compensation
Your monthly affiliate commissions will still be paid by the affiliate network's with whom you have an active account, this doesn't change when you use the GeoRiot service. The difference is that you will now be receiving multiple commission payments from the affiliate networks across the world.
GeoRiot uses a special system, designed to be non-intrusive and easy to use, to receive compensation in order to offset our costs for providing the service to your app or site. This is called "skimming." It is the seamless process of rerouting a click with GeoRiot's affiliate code, instead of a client's a pre-defined amount of time, approximately 15 out of every one hundred requests. GeoRiot is committed to ensuring partners are maximizing their affiliate commissions by promising three things.
- First, GeoRiot will never skim clicks from any of your supported countries during your free first month or any following promotional periods.
- Second, the skim rate will never exceed the amount gained from using the service (you won't loose commissions from using the service).
- Third, GeoRIot will always skim clicks from countries you don't support first.
