How do we pay for all those servers? (the short answer)

A small percent of clicks you route through GeoRiot will have our affiliate ID added instead of yours. We call this your "click share contribution." We have an extensive list of rules controlling which clicks we will and won't touch. For example, we will never touch any clicks from your base country (the country you choose to build your links from). Clicks from countries you do not yet support will be contributed first to meet your click share rate. Also, if your account sees less than 100 clicks in a 24 hours, you will keep all of your clicks. These, and other rules, were all set up to protect you and ensure that our relationship is mutually beneficial. Please read on for all of the details.

Average Commission Model

Compensation

From the beginning GeoRiot was designed to be a win-win for you, the brand, the affiliate network and GeoRiot. We started as affiliate publishers and are still very much in touch with how much every click counts towards your bottom line.

You will never pay a dime out of your pocket to use the GeoRiot service. The compensation model is based on encoding a small percent of your clicks with GeoRiot's affiliate parameters. We call this process click sharing and to ensure that you maximize your commissions, GeoRiot has established an extensive set of rules.

  • Clicks from your unsupported countries are always contributed toward your click share rate first.
  • Clicks from your base country (the country you started with and that your links are based from) are never shared.
  • Active click sharing only happens if your account generates more then 100 clicks in the trailing 24 hour period.
  • You will never take more clicks than GeoRiot helps you gain, even if that means reducing your click share rate.

Most of our clients don't participate in all of the affiliate programs. As a result the majority of their shared clicks come from those unsupported countries.

The standard click share rate is 15% of your affilitable clicks. All clients receive a 30 day free trial of the service and this can be increased to 60 days if they become active with the service in their first week. Web based clients can also receive a discounted click share contribution rate for placing promotional GeoRiot links on all pages that contain active GeoRiot links.

Because GeoRiot's compensation is 100% based off your success, our goals are directly inline be with yours -- maximize clicks and increase conversions.

Click Share Example #1

A client has been using the GeoRiot service for a few months with his iTunes affiliate links. The client's website now has about 1,000 affiliatable clicks a day. The client started with an affiliate account in the US with LinkShare, and also now has accounts with TradeDoubler to cover all of the programs in Europe and Latin America as well as DGM Pro for both Australia and New Zealand. The client did not get accounts for the programs in Canada, Mexico, or Japan. (For a complete list of countries supported by the iTunes affiliate program, click here.)

Let's say this client gets the following count of clicks from each region daily:

  • US / LinkShare - 600 clicks
  • Europe & Latin America / TradeDoubler - 200 clicks
  • Australia & New Zealand / DGM Pro - 80 clicks
  • Canada / LinkShare - 50 clicks
  • Mexico / LinkShare - 20 clicks
  • Japan / LinkShare Japan - 50 clicks
  • Totalling 1000 affiliatable clicks

Because the client doesn't have accounts for the Canadian and Japanese affiliate programs, these clicks will be shared with GeoRiot first. The 120 clicks from Canada, Mexico, and Japan comprise 12% of their affiliatable clicks. So, 15% - 12% = 3% of clicks left to be actively shared. The additional 3% (30 clicks) will be randomly shared throughout the day from Europe, Australia, and/ or New Zealand, but not from the US. The US clicks are not shared because the US is the base country for the client.

Click Share Example #2

A client has been accepted to the LinkShare and TradeDoubler iTunes affiliate programs. The client's app has the following average daily clicks:

  • US / LinkShare - 750
  • Europe / TradeDoubler - 100
  • Australia & New Zealand / DGM Pro - 100
  • Canada / LinkShare - 20
  • Japan / LinkShare - 30
  • Totalling 1000 affiliatable clicks

Given this break-down of clicks, this client will keep all clicks from US and Europe, where he is enrolled in LinkShare and TradeDoubler. Shared clicks will be comprised of the remaining clicks (15%) that the client is currently unable to earn a commission from (Eg. Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand).

Click Share Example #3

A client joins GeoRiot to improve user experience and gain better metrics and tracking for the website. This client's base country is the US, and the client is only in the US/ LinkShare iTunes program. Their average daily break-down of clicks is as follows:

  • US / LinkShare - 875
  • Europe & Latin America / TradeDoubler - 100
  • With another 25 spread between the remaining affiliatable countries
  • Totalling 1000 affiliatable clicks

Given that the client's base country, US, delivers 87.5% of affiliatable clicks, GeoRiot will not take the standard 15% click share. GeoRiot policy states that you will never share clicks from your base country. Therefor, only 12.5% of this client's clicks will be passively shared, with no active click sharing. US clicks will never be shared with GeoRiot in this scenario.
